The 11th season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is set to raise the bar with several exciting new initiatives both on and off the field. BCB President, Nazmul Hassan Papon, has expressed his confidence that this year’s tournament will set a new standard for the league.
Key Changes and Enhancements for BPL 2024:
- Fully Digital Ticketing System: For the first time, fans will have access to a fully digital ticketing system, ensuring a smoother and more efficient experience when entering the stadium.
- Enhanced Fan Experience: Free water stations will be set up for spectators in the stands, and dedicated cleaning crews will ensure the venue remains pristine throughout the event.
- Improved Broadcast Quality: The BPL will enhance its television presentation with a focus on higher broadcast quality, bringing the action closer to fans at home.
- International Umpires & DRS: All matches will feature the Decision Review System (DRS), and matches will be officiated by experienced international umpires, while renowned commentators bring the excitement to viewers.
Tournament Schedule:
- Opening Matches in Dhaka: The season will kick off in Dhaka, with the first eight matches hosted at the Mirpur Stadium.
- Sylhet & Chattogram: From January 6 to January 23, the tournament will move to Sylhet (Jan 6–13) and Chattogram (Jan 16–23).
- Return to Dhaka: The final phase of the group stage will be in Dhaka starting January 26.
Playoff & Final Schedule:
- Eliminator Match: February 3, afternoon
- First Qualifier: February 3, evening
- Second Qualifier: February 5
- Final: February 7
